All You Stand Upon
Like hot lava rising within a volcano
My anger rises within my being
Patience… a death painful and slow
Forsake patience, embrace the feeling…
The feeling of self-destruction
The desire to ruin all that is right
The need to hurt with sick passion
But hurt, without having to fight
Forsake patience, forsake the pain
Kill and bury the feeling of dying
Forsake patience, there’ll be no gain
But at least… you won’t die trying…
Trying too hard to succeed
Trying too hard to make it work
But you feed, a bad seed
You give it light, but it seeks dark
Then you forsake patience, silent torture
And the waves carry away all you stand upon
But emptiness will not live within you forever
And happiness will return, after the pain… comes undone.
